  Have your children made any new friends? When my son made a new friend a few years ago at age 3 he started talking about vampires, demons and shadows coming alive.

  We could not figure it out at all.

  It turned out his new friend watches scooby doo and a lot of other shows we dont' allow our son to watch and he was using his imagination and telling our son stories.

  It may be something supernatural. I had some odd things happen to me as a child that I still cannot explain now as an adult....I would look for the simplest explaination first.

  Update on Dad

  i posted recently asking for support (which i got tons of - thanks) as dad was going to have an operation to remove a cancerous polyp in the colon.

  well, last weekend he got rung up and told to get to the hospital fast - they had found a clot in a vein in the chest.

  as the clots were caused by the polyp they decided to operate last sunday.

  At the last Congo we attended...one was good, 2 were indifferent and one was really horrendously evil bad.

  Now since we left....all of them that have come to our house have been pompous jerks.

  Does the WTS disfellowship mentally challenged people?

  has anyone ever seen a situation where the wts disfellowhiped someone who is autistic, retarded or otherwise mentally challenged?.

  i wonder if the elders give them more leeway knowing that they are not always capable of making decisions as well as a normal person.. .

  I know our nephew who is pretty smart considering his disability thinks that he is bad or evil because they won't let him be dunked.

  Not that I want him to be a JW like the rest of the family but sheesh! It just seems a little cruel. They keep telling him he is not ready and he is now 19 and has studied his whole life.

  Any Lefties?

  my oldest son is left handed.

  everytime he does anything different from the rest of us.....my husband relates this to being left handed.. he is very artistic, detailed, and extremely particular about how he wants things in his little world to be.. this may be because he's 5 - who knows.. are there any traits of left handed people that you lefties may want to share so i can be prepared in the future?.

  Well since posting this I have found out that my Aunt who is very successful in her field is left handed and my cousin who is very smart and manipulative is also left handed.

  I guess I should hope that my son is somewhere in the middle.

  what is your daily household irritation?

  for me one of the household daily irritations is dead light bulbs.

  i often day dream about having every light socket , indoors and out with new light bulbs.

  I hate cleaning the catboxes. We have 3.

  And vacuuming. I have to do that 2 times each day. One time in the morning and one time at night.

  We have 2 big dogs and 6 cats so, if I don't vacuum it looks like furry tumbleweeds rolling through our house.

  Our nephew is developmentally disabled with Asperbers (sp) Syndrome. He has studied his whole life with the brothers but has never been baptised. He really wants this but for some reason it hasn't happened.

  Now I wonder if it hasn't happened because they won't let it happen.

  I also wonder if these same brothers count their hours when studying with him and if they do...then why can't he be dunked.

  I'm Happy Today

  well today is my wonderful husbands' birthday.. when we were first together he didn't want presents, cake, no celebration at all.. last night he was so excited about his gifts he opened one in the middle of the night.

  he wants pizza for his birthday dinner and to go out for ice cream instead of a birthday cake.. i just feel happy that he's come so far and doesn't see birthdays as some evil happening.. wg

  Thanks to everyone on behalf of my husband.

  He was really happy to have his celebration the way he wanted it...Pizza and ice cream.

  It's funny but he is the one who has pushed buying holiday decorations for our home and getting the Xmas tree up this year.

  I've been doing it my whole life and its a bit of a hassle with 2 little ones underfoot. But he's in his element so why not! Plus its good for the kids to have these normal things.

  I'm just happy that he allows these celebrations now. Our first couple of years together were really hard and extremely depressing...

  Especially since I come from a family that celebrates every occasion that Hallmark makes a card for!

  Ozzie is in hospital again.

  i received an sms last night from ozzie himself saying on saturday he collapsed and had to be taken by ambulance to hospital.. he is being operated on again this morning (wednesday 29/6/05 australia time).

  as usual with the particular operation he is having there are serious risks.

  i ask his friends to send anything positive his way today.
